I am glad to see that the Dem's are showing their true color. It's about time everybody see the yellow streak running down their back. How can one group rule over the whole state and can not even get one thing done. They are all waiting so they can say" I had no chose, I had to do it". As you know the great State of NY still does not have a budget. I find it funny that our state and the Federal Government are both in the same position. Both are run by a Democratic leadership, both have both houses run by democrats. And both can not get a thing passed. But lucky for us New Yorkers we still have a tax and spend government running us into the ground. Lets see Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver ( http://assembly.state.ny.us/mem/?ad=064) is the top dog that is biting all of us. We have new taxes ( what is new), but come on Cigarettes AGAIN........ Lets see, they tell us it to cover health costs, but yet they cut health benefits every year. So lets see by adding another $1.60 to every pack to bring just the tax to $4.35. Yes that is over 50% of the cost is taxes. But hey we still have the Indian reservations. OOH wait, no we don't they are going after them also to pay the tax on smokes. And they want to raise the tax on other tobacco products — like cigars, chewing tobacco and pipe tobacco — will increase from 46 percent to 75 percent. Now lets not forget the payroll tax they want. So where is all this money going. Well lets see the Democrats who say they are the protectors of the working people are giving the money to the people that are NOT working. Now I understand the need for it for some people. But we all know the abuse in the system. So lets throw good money after bad.

Now the only person in Albany who deserves to keep his job in my option is Governor Paterson. He is the only person sitting that has the ball's to say the State is broke, stop spending and wasting money. But hey those guys and girls who make a 6 figure income and only work what 6 months out of the year, have their finger on the pulse of the people. Can you guess what finger???

Well that is my Bitch of the Day. Until something else pisses me off.

OK, lets see it has been over 70 days and our budget is still not done. Yet our Politicians still have time to sit down and act like school kids fighting over who is at fault. If they have to time and sit a throw blame they have time to work out our budget. It's odd how the Democrats have the NY Senate vote's but yet they still can not get anything passed. I know this is going to sound bad, but I really, really do want to the State to shut down. Then finally the people of NY will open their eye's and show the people who say they have our best interest that they need to go. This State is a Tax and Spend State and it will not change until someone like the Governor finally says you have to make cuts. I find it funny that the people that make our laws and what and how much things are going to cost never say" Hey I know it will hurt, I feel it also". I mean if you are making a 6 figure salary and all the perks from the State these thing will not affect you. But us blue collar and working class slobs who live pay check to pay check will suffer the most. And I feel real bad for those that have to work two jobs just to get by.

Stop hurting the people who live here. I mean come on, even though it was (or is ) BS the Soda Tax is a joke. I know that by forcing me to drink Diet Pepsi will help me keep my weight down and is better for me, But ooh wait that is right I weight 175 soaking wet. So how the hell is it going to help me. But it is another way for the State to make money. As is they want to hit smokers AGAIN. Now we(they) know that smokers are not going to stop, just because of the price. Yes we lose some due to the price, but us smokers are going to continue and that is what the State wants. So now that people have gone to rolling their own, the State saw that and said hey we have another way to get more money...... Let's face it the State does not increase a tax from 48% to 98% to help people. They want the extra cash. I am just waiting to see a Trooper at the VT border asking to check my car to see what I bought out of State due to it's cheaper.

God it is harder and harder to say " I Love NY" everyday due to the way this state is run.

Time Warner has been airing ads complaining that Fox wants to raise their rates up to 300%.

Well Oddly Fox News Corp. wants to charge Time Warner Cable (TWC) $1 per subscriber for airing its broadcast station, That sounds step....( Really) .

Well guess what on TW website under the FAQ they are asked "Will our rates go up if you come to an agreement?" Their answer is........
"Not necessarily immediately, but programming costs continue to increase every year. And if we meet the demands requested by these networks, they will increase significantly. That is why we are doing everything possible to control programming costs now."

And today they announce that rates are going up buy up to 10%. WTF, you just said rates will not go up unless you pay the rate increase. Well you have not paid it, and yet you are raising my rates by up 14.00 a month.
So should we get TOUGH or ROLLOVER ?????????????????

Rangel rangeling again.

Two years after creating a center in his own name at City College, Harlem Rep. Charles Rangel has come through with a $3 million defense grant for the school -- for a project the Pentagon doesn't even want, The Post has learned.

The $3 million cash infusion is going to an existing academic department, rather than to the Charles B. Rangel Center for Public Service at CCNY, a $30 million project that will immortalize Rangel's name and house his papers when he retires. Rangel had previously arranged $2 million in taxpayer funds for the center.

The latest piece of congressional pork is to fund research into new composite materials that could be used to protect Army trucks from attack. The grant is tucked into the massive Defense Appropriations Bill moving through Congress.

Word of the funding comes as the House is set to vote today on a Republican-backed resolution to strip Rangel of his Ways and Means Committee chair pending an ethics investigation, after revelations that he didn't disclose income on multiple properties, as well as failure to pay taxes and other issues.

The Pentagon doesn't want the research money, but Rangel got the funding anyway by getting the Appropriations Committee to direct the cash to CCNY.

Did Gov. Paterson dole out a six-figure, do-nothing job as a golden parachute for a politically connected bureaucrat — just as the state faced its worst fiscal crisis in a generation?

Let’s hope he did.

Because the alternative — that the governor was actually taking the counsel of Downtown development chief Avi Schick — would be truly frightening.

The Post’s Tom Topousis reported recently that Paterson quietly let Schick keep drawing his $213,000-a-year state salary for eight months after he’d resigned as head of the state’s economic-development agency in January — by hiring him as an “adviser” on Downtown rebuilding.

Schick, a close ally of Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, remains the (unpaid) chairman of the Lower Manhattan Development Corp., where he’s dawdled for years over the deconstruction of the former Deutsche Bank building at Ground Zero.

What kind of advice could Schick possibly have to offer — creative new ways to further stall work?

Most likely, Schick was merely given the adviser post to kill time. He left that job this month mere days before he was hired by a Manhattan law office.

Then again, given Paterson’s recent fecklessness on Ground Zero — notably his inability to mitigate the latest dispute between the Port Authority and developer Larry Silverstein — it wouldn’t be surprising if Schick did have his ear.

Either way, the payout’s outrageous.

Tuesday, September 15, 2009 Senate votes to defund ACORN In a show of bipartisan common sense, the Senate has voted 83-7 to remove federal funds from ACORN, the community organizing group dedicated to voter fraud and embezzling public funds. ACORN is an organized crime syndicate masquerading as a community service group. The only things it should receive from Congress are subpoenas.Kudos to Senators from both parties who bowed to common sense and approved the Johanns. Let's hope this kind of behavior is contagious and makes it over to the House.

I just checked out a link on the Times Union website that is showing the pork in the budget. I want to know since when did the largest legalized mafia ( the Catholic Church ) get money from the State. The church is closing down schools and church's due to not having enough money. But yet in Albany county I see that they are getting almost half a million tax dollars, to fund sport complexes and Art centers. Keep up the great work Breslin. Security at Colonie Center.

OK, I know I have issue's with almost everything. But today we went to Colonie Center. As we were walking in I noticed a lone travel bag next to a garbage can. So being the good person I am, I told a store clerk to call security about it. Well, since she was on the phone and was to busy to give a shit, I assume she did not call. An hour and a half later when we left the bag was still there. As luck would have it a Security Guard in their A/C comfy car was passing by. So I called out to them to tell them about. I stated that it has been their over an hour. She looks at me with deer in headlights look and mumbles about calling somebody. I do not know, but I thought the people who drive around in the car with the lights on telling you to move where the somebodies.

So it's nice to know that security at the second largest mall in our area is spot on. I know we are not worried about such acts of terror could happen in our little piece of the world, but remember we did have ( and still do) have terrorist living and trying to sell weapons in the area. Remember the sting operation of 5 years ago. What did you think they all ran away, saying "stay away from Albany. They are on to us".

ALBANY -- Citing the month-long impasse in the state Senate, Assemblyman James Tedisco, R-Glenville, said he is introducing a bill that would allow voters to recall any officials they feel haven't met their duties.
Under the "recall" law, the electorate could collect signatures for petitions to remove any state elected official, Tedisco said. For a governor or attorney general, 50,000 signatures would be needed. For state legislators, including senators and assembly members, the lesser of 10 percent of the votes in their district or 5,000 signatures would be needed.

I have had it with you and your administration, sir. Your conduct on your recent trip overseas has convinced me that you are not an adequate representative of the United States of America collectively or of me personally.

You are so obsessed with appeasing the Europeans and the Muslim world that you have abdicated the responsibilities of the President of the United States of America. You are responsible to the citizens of the United States. You are not responsible to the peoples of any other country on earth.

I personally resent that you go around the world apologizing for the United States telling Europeans that we are arrogant and do not care about their status in the world. Sir, what do you think the First World War and the Second World War were all about if not the consideration of the peoples of Europe? Are you brain dead? What do you think the Marshall Plan was all about? Do you not understand or know the history of the 20th century?

Where do you get off telling a Muslim country that the United States does not consider itself a Christian country? Have you not read the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution of the United States? This country was founded on Judeo-Christian ethics and the principles governing this country, at least until you came along, come directly from this heritage. Do you not understand this?

Your bowing to the king of Saudi Arabia is an affront to all Americans. Our President does not bow down to anyone, let alone the king of Saudi Arabia. You don?t show Great Britain, our best and one of our oldest allies, the respect they deserve yet you bow down to the king of Saudi Arabia. How dare you, sir! How dare you!

You can?t find the time to visit the graves of our greatest generation because you don?t want to offend the Germans but make time to visit a mosque in Turkey. You offended our dead and every veteran when you give the Germans more respect than the people who saved the German people from themselves. What?s the matter with you?

You are so self-righteously offended by the big bankers and the American automobile manufacturers yet do nothing about the real thieves in this situation, Mr. Dodd, Mr. Frank, Franklin Raines, Jamie Gorelic, the Fannie Mae bonuses, and the Freddie Mac bonuses. What do you intend to do about them? Anything? I seriously doubt it.

What about the U.S. House members passing out $9.1 million in bonuses to their staff members ? on top of the $2.5 million in automatic pay raises that lawmakers gave themselves? I understand the average House aide got a 17% bonus. I took a 5% cut in my pay to save jobs with my employer. You haven?t said anything about that. Who authorized that? I surely didn?t! Executives at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will be receiving $210 million in bonuses over an eighteen-month period, that's $45 million more than the AIG bonuses. In fact, Fannie and Freddie executives have already been awarded $51 million ? not a bad take. Who authorized that and why haven?t you expressed your outrage at this group who are largely responsible for the economic mess we have right now.

I resent that you take me and my fellow citizens as brain-dead and not caring about what you idiots do. We are watching what you are doing and we are getting increasingly fed up with all of you. I also want you to know that I personally find just about everything you do and say to be offensive to every one of my sensibilities. I promise you that I will work tirelessly to see that you do not get a chance to spend two terms destroying my beautiful country.

OK, so as everybody knows 1) I live NY and 2) I smoke.

So of course the great State of NY has in their infinite wisdom decided to help their bottom line by adding another 61 cents to the pack of cigarettes. That is on top of the $2.75 they already charge.
Now compared to, Michigan has a $2 tax per pack. Virginia and Kentucky have a tax of 30 cents per pack, both ranking 47th in the nation, according to the Federation of Tax Administrators.

So NY is the highest taxed state in the US. They say the tax is used to help the cost of medicare. Then on TV the have ads ALL DAY telling us to quit, and what the effects of smoking are. And they show some nasty ass commercials...

SO the the hell do they want????? They tell us to stop smoking then they raise the cost saying they need the money. If you want to keep the extra cash coming in, promote smoking......

What the hell do I know, it's after midnight and I should be in bed. Hey that is my bitch for now.
